The terraced land of Bargòn is on a hill on the back of Riomaggiore located at the end of the path that from Lavaccio leads to the litoranea road, the path than continues up to Madonna di Montenero and Telegrafo. Back in the 30’sRoberto’s, when Roberto’s father returned from the United States (where he had emigrated ) because of filossera, a fungus of the wines which killed all the plants, and in so doing disrupted the local economy. He bought the ruines and the land located in such a splendid position, sunny and with a wonderful breeze to grow grapes.For this reason Roberto is sometimes locally called “il figlio dell’americano” The son of the american. For this reason Roberto is sometimes locally called “il figlio dell’americano” The son of the american. From then onwards Roberto and his brothers have been growing grapes in the terraces of Bargòn.
